ABOUT DISTRICT COURT
Mahabubabad earlier known as Manukota and also Manukota comes from Mranukota. In Telugu “Mranu” means “Tree” and “Kota” means “Fort”. In English it will translate to “a fort made of trees”. In earlier days Manukota used to be covered with plenty of trees like a fort. Later it was spelled as Manukota. Whenever the Nizam ruler “Mahabub Ali Khan” visited the city, Manukota changed as Mahabubabad. Mahabub who is one of the officials of Hon’ble Nizam. He once arrived Manukota before Independence and stayed outside of the town in a place which is called “Shikarkhana”. The name of Manukota as the passage of the time, hence called Mahabubabad. There was a temple namely Sri Lord Veerabhadraswamy and Bhadrakali Ammaru at kuravi situated at a distance of 12 Kms from Mahabubabad town.
The existing Court building was established in the name of District Munsiff during the period of Nizam 1347 Fasli- 1937, and later VI Addl. District and Sessions Judge’s Court (FTC), Mahabubabad has been established in the year 2014 and the said Court has been re-designated as Prl.
